Weigh-In and other thoughts. September 1, 2008

Since I have been doing this 60-60 Experiment, I have been more cognizant of God’s nudges via the Holy Spirit. One of those nudges was to not weigh last Wednesday. I just knew that whatever came of that weigh-in would not affect me positively.
I did weigh this morning as no matter how regularly (or not) I weigh, the first of the month has always been a time I weigh in for no other reason than to have on a chart I keep. It’s a periodic checkpoint, rather than an action I use to gauge a success or failure in whatever diet I am on. For some reason I am able to weigh and note it with a less emotional impact. Wierd. I know.
Anyway, I am feeling the need to have some forced accountability again with my 0-5 eating. So, I’m going to emulate (aka steal an idea and format exactly from…) one of my Thin Within Journey friends, Christina, over at My “Thin Within Journey”. Her food log is here. I will be doing something similar for the next month and a half or so.
Been enjoying your blog posts. I just started a food record too! =)
Way to go with not weighing yourself as you discerned it would set you off. I think that is extremely wise. That’s interesting that you are able to weigh in for your once-a-month without the same emotional baggage. Strange! I can see the wisdom of using the God-given hunger scale as a gauge of being on track or not rather then the man-made physical scale. I seem to think I’d read that Judi Halliday hasn’t weighed herself in like 30+ years! I think that is just amazing! Imagine how freeing that would be!
I’m proud of you also for digging in and getting serious and committed to 0-5 eating. Publicly logging food and hunger #’s certainly has its ins and out and ups and downs….but, as led by the Lord, can be a really useful tool at certain points I have found.
I’m just so impressed and inspired by your perseverance despite ups and downs with TW. Keep pressing on and drawing near to God. He is going to complete this good work he began in you (Phil 1:6)! I’m praying for you:-) Thanks for motivating and inspiring me, Lundie:-)
